Primordial have always been hit and miss with me.
May be worth checking this out, though. When they are good they are quite good.

I was initially confused by this one, but I'm digging it now. It takes a while for the riffs to reveal themselves, and also to put yourself in a ballad-y mindset for some songs.

I must say I'm not really hearing any power metal influences.

Frankly I'm disappointed with this one. It lacks that brilliance TTND had, it seems a bit flat and uninspired to me. I only like two or three songs. I'm seeing them tonight btw, hopefully it won't be anything like a year ago, when their drummer was so stoned/drunk that he couldn't actually play and Nemtheanga furiously called it quits after 4 songs or so. I heard they fired that guy afterwards.
