Fuck yeah! The start of 2010 is very promising. Let's hope the bands can keep this pace. The cover art looks great, very epic and sinister.

Rotting Christ covering Diamanda Galas!?!?!?!?!?!! Wow, this is pretty much a mandatory purchase for me. I like the fact you referenced the early days of Century media's gothic metal years, Tiamat's Wildhoney, Moonspell-Irreligious, mid-era Gothic Rotting Christ; that has to be one of my favorite eras of metal. Rotting Christ are honestly one of my favorite metal bands, and it only looks band on Mustaine for being intolerant of the band's views.

One of the best bands in business, definitely. I love every era of this band, and this latest one does not disappoint as well. They deserve more recognition.

if the greek metalheads (as my self) have one band to be proud of its this one (ok septic flesh as well).. They have been consistent almost for 20 years now and they havent released a bad album as of yet (excluding sanctus diabolos...didnt like this one). Theogonia was a monster of an album and with aealo it seems that Rotting Christ will top that.. i cant wait for 26/06 for the concert with moonspell...quoting Sakis "keep the black cult alive!"

Why do greek bands always sneak albums up on me? Does nobody ever fucking talk about them or what?

Well, Megadeth is a good Christian name!

I had no idea this was coming. If only I had the time to listen to all these albums.

Making a thread about how disappointing this album was considering what a huge fan of Rotting Christ I am, I must say this album has grown excellently on me. I quite agree with Alex on this review. The Folk elements are obviously much widely used on this album; and with every RC album this album too is full of timeless melodies and fantastic structure. The masters of the Dark Arts have not disappointed me yet again.

4 songs and the cover song into Aealo this album is somewhat of a mixture of A dead poem and Sanctus Diavolos. Though the vocal arrangements and chanting in the background are incredibly well-integrated, and the entire album is masterfully done and easily shatters the lackluster newer Septicflesh. These guys have really done it and are still one of the best bands in metal, I truly regret not listening to this album sooner. 10/10

10/10 it's quite much, but it's no less than 9/10. Spartan metal.

I ordered this album with their demo and with these two my Rotting Christ discography is complete. Rotting Christ are such a unique band in the music world of today with any standards. All hail Rotting Christ.

I thought you weren't buying cds for a while. RC is indeed unique. The only album I have yet to hear is Sleep of the Angels.

Yeah I know. This is before. It's about two weeks ago if I remember correctly. That album is very atmospheric and mid-tempo. It's quite brilliant if you ask me.
