Ok, I'll give it a spin but since I've never could get into Edguy (except their debut, moderately), I don't expect to like this...

The third consecutive Edguy album that is good but nowhere near great. Sammet is getting lazy.

Put this on order after reading it was more like earlier Edguy than the last two, I'll give it a go but as a hard rock/metal group they make a much better power metal band.

A painful album to try to get through. Trying to0 hard to be melodic with big choruses. All feels forced. Very little stands out here. I think it's actually their worst album to date. Their graph has gone consistently down from the beginning, save for a few spikes here and there.

Listened to Robin Hood on Youtube and it didn't exactly give me a taste for more. The post-Hellfire Club stuff just doesn't appeal to me at all. But I don't agree that they sold out, I think it's simply an evolution of how they like to write music these days. Unfortunately for me the evolution of their musical taste no longer matches my own.

Hello guys, I have been long time fan of this site and reader of this forum. I decided to register cause i feel that five cool Germans - Edguy are being bashed for no good reason. They`ve been one of my favourite bands for ten years now.
I remember years ago how memebers of this forum and MR staff praised the band, reviewer Mr. Chris overquoted their first albums ( VGO and TOT ), I think that those two are weakest in their discography. They are just very good pure power metal albums unlike rest of their stuff ( heavy metal, melodic metal, rock influenced metal ) crossed with power metal.
Age Of The Joker is almost excellent rock influenced melodic metal,
new Powerwolf album ( overquoated by the way ) is good power metal album but judging from both reviews Powerwolf is new massiah of heavy metal and Edguy is a joke/watered down band whose days are over.
Nothing could be more further from the thruth my friends. I will listen to Powerwolf for a week or two and that is it, but I will listen to AOTJ for months and see them live. Crying becauose they are not TROO POWER metal is not my style.
