The Escape is a really awesome song, at first I didnt really like his voice, but it started sounding good by about mid-song. I'm gonna keep an eye out for this one.

Yeah, this album sounds really good, especially for a debut release. I'll be checking this band further!

For a debut album this is very, very good. None of these songs, going by the titles, appeared on their two early demos. So if the band didn't have these songs on backorder, they wrote, recorded and released this all within a year's time. Mighty impressive, if you ask me.

Sure sure, a valiant debut album but according to me not worth 85/100 but rather around 70/100. I was not impressed at all with this. The singer has potential but he needs a long way to go. The rest of the group are also not very impressive. The whole album is really not so "melodic" as I was expecting after reading the description "melodic heavy metal". Most of the songs were pretty boring and lacked originality.
I'm not going to spend more hours on this album but I will definitely keep my eyes on them for the future because they really sound promising!

And by the way, what's with the white shirts and black ties they all wear (at the pictures on their website)? That looks so stupid and kind of reminds me those stupid retro-trends that american punks groups try to bring on.

Well, if you're basing your opinion on only hearing this album today I'm going to totally disregard it. I assume you downloaded it. I surely hope you aren't basing your opinion off the album clips!

I, of course, disagree with everything you said here. The singer is a very solid singer. He doesn't show off a ridiculous range, but he is damn good. And originality is overrated because is extremely hard to attain. People that are looking for originality are constantly going to find themselves disappointed.

My score stands. =)

So? They're a young band. It's not 1986 anymore.

My first thoguht when I saw them was, they look like Mormon Missionaries! Egads, someone get the rifle! But looks aren't important to me so I just judged the music on it's own merit. I really like the whole song. The album does seem to get weaker from there, but that could very well be the snippets talking. Can't really tell anything from 48 second snippets. Haven't found a download yet, but I plan to check this disc out in it's entirety and then decide if I want to buy it.

I'll agree that as debut albums go, this one is very strong and shows alot of potential in the future if the band can stay together as a cohesive unit and continue to progress.

You know, why do band's not include the hook when they upload clips? It would the most logical thing, right? Yet so many will upload the middle of a verse, and intro, a breakdown, a partial solo, etc.

It makes no sense to me.

Most of the time they just upload the FIRST 48 seconds of each song...which is worthless if a band uses alot of intro stuff. I believe that is for simplicity so someone doesn't have to go in track by track and figure out which 48 seconds to record. They can just mass produce the song samples by automatically recording the first 48.

I'll agree it makes no sense. Someone, even a fan, would be willing to make the samples for them and pick the right parts.

Swedish heavy metal band EVERGRACE has changed its name to INCRAVE. The group's self-titled debut album that was released September 30, 2006 will be re-released April 20 under the INCRAVE banner and with the new CD title "The Escape". The album will include a bonus track called "The Masquerade".

"The Masquerade", along with three other songs from the album, can currently be streamed in their entirety at the band's MySpace page.

Well, I'm glad they changed their name. I was baffled why they didn't do it prior to releasing the debut last year. INCAVE, though? Gotta give 'em an "A" for orginality but a "D" for dud.

Good point. I never thought about that.
