Great review. I'll get this one and post my thoughts of it later.

edit: Pumped it all day yesterday and I have to say I really like it. However, I think the whole album sounds like Cain's Offering, not that I really mind.

I have coincidentally been listening to this album all week in the gym

This is a very accurate review, my good man...

Darkest Hours - If I remember was written by the new guy..Matias Kupiainen.....Very Radio friendly/lots of keyboard, its very catchy.... but it lacks any " Balls"..at all.

The Game Never Ends, Event Horizon, Under Flaming Skies....these are my favs especially when working out..
Move the Mountain- I can see why it was added, its good to have a slow song...but at 5:33....mins its way too long...I would of cut it down to 4 minutes..

The tittle track....Elysium.....would be awesome to hear live.An absolute highlight

Overall- A very good album.

Elysium is a very good album. Polaris was a good surprise, but this one is an even greater one. The slower paced songs are a lot more interesting than on Polaris and this is what makes Elysium a much more well rounded album. The progressive elements are also a lot more present and you can sense a much greater involvement from
their new members, especially Matias Kupiainen their guitarist.

Kotipelto and co. will be playing in my CD player for a while and if their releases keep up with this kind of quality, I'll be a very happy music fan.

Now that I've gotten to listen to this as a whole I really enjoyed the album and the score fits. This is the best released by the Strato guys since Infinite.

Between Elements 1 and Destiny, this is easily the best Stratovarius I've heard.

Had the EP and it took me a week of saying, "Yeah, it's pretty good." Then I realized that I couldn't live without listening to it everyday. Then I heard Elysium and it became clear. Stratovarius are back in a big way. These last two albums have been incredible. Many listens in the backyard with a campfire looking at the river and on the beach watching the sunset. An instant classic in my opinion. The song Elysium is dynamic, emotive, and one of the best Stratovarius songs ever. You don't want to miss out on this!

I think this is way better than Polaris!

The best since Infinite I think!
