Loved these guys when I was younger. Rise of the Rainbow was the first power metal song I learned to play on guitar (closely followed by Hammerfall's Renegade. Def' gonna check this new one out.

Checking this out as I write. Seeing a 85/100 given by Chris, I was fearing a subpar album worth a 60 at best (no offense meant, man, I genuinely love your enthusiasm about metal). My mistake! For I think the score and review are actually spot on. :dio:

I suspect a grower, here. Thunderstorm will probably remain my fave however.

edit: Funny how, as you mention, The Final Odyssey reminds a bit of Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Ambeon...), ambient-wise and lyric-wise. It just struck me. Bam.

The singer sometimes bothers me, but I always find some enjoyment and a little laughter when I listen to their albums.
