If I was a Doom or Stoner Metal freak, the last few years would be mind-boggling cause of the breadth of material released in that genre. Unfortunately, I'm not, and it just seems annoying. Maybe it's just me?

I enjoy the genres and it's really a mixed bag. These guys are great, but nothing I haven't heard before. If I had heard them prior to having heard Red Fang then maybe I'd have more of an attachment to it. In terms of a sound different than these guys, I think the abundance of stoner/doom bands never gets annoying insofar as it is rather varied. Some overlap but so long as its good, there isn't really any reason to complain about it.

I think every genre/subgenre has a mind boggling amount of material released in it pretty much all the time. Although doom/stoner metal has gotten a lot more coverage in the last couple years than when I first started following metal on the internet.
