This one finally came in the mail .. I think 86 is a reasonably accurate score, althought I think a few points were unconsciously added for novelty and potential. It's definitely not 70's material, nor is it as creative or melodic as the better Drukdh material.

I found the comments on the drumming interesting because it occurred to me that much of the droning melodic BM style as found on the majority of this record could be spiced up with something else going on with the percussion. Standard drum kit noises have been convention for so long .. perhaps this is an area BM bands could think about spending some creative effort on.

CandlelightRecordsUSA will present the reissue of Winterfylleth's debut album. Set for release May 22, it has been completely reworked (new art, remastered, with two previously unavailable songs), The Ghost of Heritage preceeds the expected autumn release of the band's new album.

Remastered by Colin Marston... Intriguing.

A sampling of this band's second album, "The Mercian Sphere", is on youtube, and very, very good. Much like Wodensthrone, these English listeners of Negura Bunget and Drudkh have carved out an English spin under the rubric of the E. European sound.

One of the most talented reviewers on metal-archives noted the aformentioned album features a lot of the clean vocal stylings from Ulver's Bergtatt, just as James astutely mentioned in his review.
