Good review, although as a fellow Aussie I feel almost obliged to defend against any and all criticism, even when it's perfectly valid
This is a very good album though, and I feel that
And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope should warrant a mention as well, with its incredibly laid-back opening section that really exemplifies these guys' ear for melody.
The point about Jens Bogren producing is an interesting one as well - he seems to be on a bit of an Aussie kick recently (Chaos Divine, Voyager, Be'lakor, now this) - coincidence? Anyway, great to see this album getting some decent recognition around the world.
