In spots I was mesmerized, then there were spots which I thought were way too plain. Once they are away from just doing more standard BM, it sounded great.

Yeah, The last album was great. This one is just as good from my first impression, but I have so much new stuff to listen to right now. I will definitely be investing some quality time into it soon. I've actually been digging on that Huntress album, the new Ihsahn, and The Wretched End lately. The one album that I really warmed up to this year though is the new Meshuggah. I think it's my album of the year right now edging out Swallow the Sun's Emerald Forest and the Blackbird just barely.

I like the idea that they're a black metal band that doesn't do the cheesy satanic lyrics instead they do ghost stories which makes them unique.
