This is one of the best releases lately and I can not believe your quote. This album has released 4/5+ in all places I've seen it reviewen before and I think it definately deserves so.

All the songs are very catchy, executed perfectly by these great musicans and the production is topnotch. The singer is the most amazing. She hits Rob Halfords Painkiller style screams perfectly, but can also sing low almost like Udo. I was shocked to find out she was female, because she certainly has a lot more balls than most powermetal singers! There are tons of memorable guitar riffs too... surely no Hansen/Weikath duo, but very melodic and fits perfectly into the song.

Yes, the lyrics are extremly cheesy and downright stupid, but heck what are manowar? not to mention some recent edguy or freedom call? shut up, sit down and enjoy.

4.5/5

Each their own, but disagree. Cliched, boring, and done better by numerous other bands. I bought the album because I thought the video for Enter the Metal World was well done and the song sounded interesting, but once I gave the whole album some spins it just fell flat for me. Not saying they cannot improve and kick some ass, the potential is there, but not feeling this one at all. 4.5/5? Hardly.

Definitely too low of a score, I think, but not by much. Yes, it is a cliched kind of music that's been done before, but so fucking what? Especially when it's done well! Not to mention most bands that we all listen to are doing nothing original.

That said, this isn't an amazing album. Some songs are a bit lackluster overall. I'd give this one a 70 or 75/100.

Well, how many 1000x of powermetal bands ripping of helloween have we seen out there? I think Battle Beast got a lot more originality than most of the bands. There are strong influences of UDO, Wasp put into a power metal realm, but then there is a female singer with great range and nothing like I ever heard before...

Saying that Battle Beast is unoriginal, is as absurd as the judges saying that this guy (or whatever that performer is?) is unoriginal:

I was like WTF is that "thing"?

If you think Battle Beast is original, you need to broaden your musical palette. They are totally unoriginal.

Nothing wrong with that, though. Nearly every band out there is unoriginal.

Being unoriginal isnt the point. Modern metal as a whole is unoriginal at this point, over 30 years into the game (with a some exceptions). If I listen to an album and find it to be unoriginal, yet still interesting and entertaining then yeah, give it an appropriate score. If an album is unoriginal and uninteresting at the same time, then that merits a lower score. My understanding of the rating system is that a 62 is the high end of "try before you buy" territory, which is exactly what this album is in my opinion.

Come to think of it this band reminds me ALOT of Crystal Viper, and they are better IMO, even though I gave their last album a 72 I think.

Right on man, I wasn't trying to get back in your face either. I appreciate getting feed back, it keeps me critiquing my own work and justifying how I feel about it, which I hope will also help me improve as a reviewer/writer.

I actually checked out that video and lol'd a lot. The song just sounded too shitty for my taste and I'm the one that listens on occasion Manowar and RoF.

The problem is that the female singer sounds way too masculine for my taste. I wish some female power metal singers would stop sounding too manly like and stick with sounding female with lots of power. Prime example Doro. She can sing heavy/power metal without sounding like she's imitating Halford.

Yep, Doro is pretty much the measuring stick for this style of female vocals.

Yet Halford can sing like a chick.

Fuck you.

Halford's falsetto is paper thin. I don't see why people think he's one of the best still.

I think with Halford at this point it is more about his presence than his actual ability. His voice might not be what it was, but he is still Halford and that pretty much wins any fight.
