I never gave this album a proper chance, and now going back to it I realize that I really missed out. While the songs are largely the same as the ones on previous albums but the change of instrumentation makes it sound so fresh and in a few cases even better than the earlier versions.

Favorite Drudkh album but also the album that got me into them. So damn cheery.

I'll have to check this out. I'm still trying to put together the juxtaposition of "So damn cheery" with the title of the album along with the picture of the woman crying on the cover but hey, it could be.

Well, the music may not be chipper, but it brings a smile to my face. I really enjoy the sound this album has. I don't know anything else that sounds like it, but I'm sure there is stuff.

Still your favorite by them trapt?

I was listening to Eternal Turn of the Wheel last night...really wasn't a bad album, just not up to some of their earlier efforts.

Blood in Our Wells may have surpassed it. Neither Handful or Eternal Turn hooked me. Never gave them much of a listen honestly. I really haven't listened to Drudkh in a while since Rio guilt tripped me about them.

Its a good album with a lot of nostalgia in those little acoustic chords, I think it gets a bad rap simply because its underproduced. Sunset in Carpathians, Tears of gods, and The Cranes will never return here are all beautiful songs.
