Haven't totally sapped Mammoth of all it has to offer. You'd say this is a step up?

Dude, if you thought mammoth was that good, you really need to check out their older stuff. They've been going slightly downhill with every release after Sleeping in Traffic Part 2 (but I haven't heard this new one yet)

Oh, bollocks.

The last couple have been perfectly listenable albums, and I have nothing against them, but they were a huge step down. Destined Solitaire was like pure Gentle Giant worship, and Mammoth was easily the worst since the debut.

Let me just reiterate though, I have nothing against those albums. My comment was purely to suggest how insanely good their old stuff is.

It's not because they have simplified their formula that it's a step down. Imho, Mammoth & The Void have the best compositions (songs!) Beardfish ever crafted.
