Great album, but for some reason the copy I have (yes, downloaded, shame on me, I know) seems sort of muddy, especially on the louder parts of most of the tracks. I do not notice this with any of my other High on Fire releases, from Art of Self Defense to Snakes for the Divine.

Goat, did you notice any difference in production value between this and, say, Snakes?

I'm just wondering if I got a shitty quality rip.

On topic: Album is a beast as usual, Matt Pike owns.

Ok, thanks. I've since re-downloaded the album in a higher bitrate and it seems to sound a little better, though I can't be sure that it's not my ears hearing what my eyes see.

The slower songs really work better than the faster ones on this album. I love the bluesy leads on "Madness of an Architect" and "King of Days" and "Warhorn" work great as a two-part song.

This is the first High On Fire album that I've bought and I am thoroughly impressed. I was looking to take a chance on something I normally don't listen to and this fit the bill. Bottom line, if this doesn't get your blood pumping then you're definitely dead already. Great review your Goatness, thanks again.

Was expecting something slower in tempo. It's pretty cool though.
