A few tracks that are better than Passion which makes it a step up.

This doesn't sound very promising. I haven't had the time to listen to it yet, the only track I've heard so far is Of Fire and Fucking Pigs which was great. Then again, according to your review it's one of the only two tracks worth listening to with the rest being really lackluster. I'll give my full opinion when I've heard it in full.

Your mileage may vary, but the band sound bored on record to me and it drags the whole thing down.

I do agree that, despite thorroughly enjoying Passion, nothing on there ever took me by surprise. Maybe it's because I've just gotten used to them or they're slacking off, or both. Then again, I've heard another track (news update to follow shortly) and I thought it was great as well. But, as you said, I might get bored after the third listen, who knows.

After more listens, this album is much better than Passion. It has songs that actually grab me. And by no means does this capture that visceral snare that past albums had, but it has solid songs. Yeah, some are meh, but Passion was entirely meh. You Can't Save Me, Fucking Pigs, In Coelo Quis are actually decent songs. The big factor is that their music doesnt strike fear into you anymore. The Devils are Here sounded like the end of the world, Domine Non Es Dignus threatened subjugation, Constellation made you picture a wasteland. This is just generic blackened deathgrind. It doesn't have that Anaal Nathrakh vibe.

Liked Domine non es dignus and that ep I can't remember its name, but they literally got big after ripping off everything Gorgoroth did before. Everything they've done past the aforementioned is background music
