This is a very fair and appropriate review Alex. I just bought the album last week and after a few listens I feel the same as you do in that the band sets the tone very well but the vocalist falls short a few times over the course of the album. It doesn't ruin the album for me though, I still like it a lot because I haven't been able to find many bands covering this genre this well. If you know of any other than the ones you mentioned in the review please feel free to recommend some.

Addendum: There are moments on this album that the vocalist reminds me of Grace Potter minus her high pitched squeals.

Raven, glad we are on the same page. If you are only asking about female fronted psychedelic occult stoner rock, then The Devil's Blood is by far my favorite, but if a male fronted band will do, have you checked out Horisont - Tva Sidor av Horisonten? If you don't, PM me and I will find a way to get it to you. Witchcraft anything and Lake of Tears Crimson Cosmos are my other favs, I am sure you heard LoT.

I'll give The Devil's Blood a closer listen and if you can believe it I found Horisont on iTunes so I'll sample their stuff. I bought the new Witchcraft last week which is a really good album. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll let you know what I think.
