Interesting review. I was curious where this would go. At least he hasn't tried to do something contemporary.

I'll definitely check it out.

Rightfully so because it's absolute garbage, Steve Harris should be ashamed to have attached his name to this.

I don't see why, it's much better than Virtual XI.

Somebody here was trashing it. I honestly thought it was Stefan.

This.

I don't understand people's reactions to solo albums sometimes. It's obviously not meant to be the same as their group work, otherwise it would have been the group's new album instead of a solo release.

Especially when it comes to someone like Steve Harris who dedicated his whole musical life to a single project.
What did you expect, kids, more twin guitared, high-pitched vocals progressive heavy metal? Look elsewhere.

It was Raven already.

After seeing Maiden on their tour Maiden England in Boston, I was on a wicked Maiden kick and picked this up due to Steve Harris being attached to it. Thought it was garbage. Then I shed the idea and general wanting of a new Maiden album and went in with an open mind and generally enjoyed it. 99% of people who get this will be Maiden fans, and 99% of them will expect a repackaged Maiden, which in part explains the hate for the album.

I get that but it's kind of idiotic to expect Harris to make a "closet Iron Maiden". There's bit and pieces because Harris is involved, of course, but just tiny bits and supersmall pieces.

This was a great review and a perfect score. Not an album to headbang to, but rather a fun listen that shows off Harris' bass playing in a much different light.

I wasn't expecting or hoping for an Iron Maiden album out of Steve Harris. After listening to it, I feel it's really weak and the vocalist makes me want to stop listening immediately. Sorry guys.

No problem Raven. It seemed to me that particular brand of well-polished heavy rock is not your cup of tea (judging on your posts on the now playing thread), so I'm not surprised. Except I find your first comment exceptionally aggressive for an honest piece of music such as this.

It's not bad, some decent tracks. I agree that it's cool to hear somewhat different bass performance by Harris. But the singer... He reminds me of somebody, I cannot recall who, but not good, not good at all.

Kinda like how I find this post rather condescending?

That's was my absolute honest first opinion of the album and it still is. I'm surprised that more people don't recognize this for the steaming pile of...oops I almost did it again :)

Or the part a few posts up where he refers to the collective you as 'kids'. Stefan, just because you are as old as dirt doesn't make us all kids. I'm slightly less older than dirt, afterall. :D

Raven, EBD, Stefan

3 old men fighting to the death. Where's V to be our special guest referee?

Steve can do play-by-play.
