I'm probably in the minority that actually liked Winger back in the day.

Their s/t and In The Heart Of The Young are true classics but after that they went south.Pull just plained sucked not because it was different from their first 2 albums has but because it lacked the energy that band had prior.

I heard that they reunited to make another album but I'm reluctant to listen to it because it seems that 80's bands that reunite always make bad albums. They try to fit into the modern sound but fail miserably.Prime example Europe and Skid Row.

I'm actually the polar opposite. s/t and In the Heart of the Young I think have their moments (Seventeen and Easy Come, Easy Go especially, both classics of hair metal), but overall they lack consistency. Totally up my alley in style and all, but when all is said and done they definitely belong with the overrated bunch including Ratt, Quiet Riot and post-Shout Mötley Crüe. Pull on the other hand I really love, the songwriting on there just strikes me as far more strong. Not as catchy and fun as Winger of old, but far more substantial and lasting in the long run. Yes, it's a 1993 release and one could argue they changed their sound because their old one was out of vogue - however, what they did is not turn grunge, but let their songwriting mature and crank up the heaviness a whole lot.

You simply can NOT argue with the song "Junkyard Dog" - the first time I heard it my jaw hit the fucking floor, and not just for sounding so different from Winger of old. Just plain amazing. Hoping for more of that on this album, it should arrive at my door in a couple of days.

Pull is by far their best album. I love the first two, but they're very light and fluffy. Pull was heavier, more mature, and just had some killer, killer tunes! "Spell I'm Under" remains one of my favorite ballads of all time! What a great song!

This new album is very good. A bit more modern in sound—no shocker there!—but it has a lot of that Pull style. I really like this one.

I totally agree with Pull being the best album of the three. I don't think anybody can argue with their songwriting or musianship on this release. I believe Paul Taylor was the keyboardist on their first two albums but no keyboards were used on Pull and the sound was heavier and more mature. I think it's safe to say that the song and video for Seventeen pretty much put the guys behind the eight ball in terms of legitimacy. What a brutal video!!! I'm a huge fan of Winger and Kip's solo stuff but I still can't get over how anti-metal he looked in that video. Hey Kip, Nice dancing!

Yeah...the tights didn't help either! Haha.

And yes, his solo stuff is very good, as you eluded to.

Hey Rad :)

I'm sorting out my life trying to decide what to do so I decided to take some time away from the board besides it was getting really bad here before I left don't know if the drama died down hopefully it did.

I'll come back full time when I get my life sorted out but I will pop in here from time to time.
