Doomdeath? I saw nothing in your review to account for the death.

It is an accepted notion that growly vocals in this genre is what relates it to death.

I haven't heard the album, but isn't that usually referred to as funeral doom?

i think we are all talking about the same thing, let's not argue about the genre label but enjoy the music instead

The excerpts from this CD sound very promising. I feel miserable already: on my wishlist!

I don't know what funeral doom is (maybe a newer name for this style), but back in the early 90's, bands like Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Anathema and My Dying Bride were laying foundations for doom-death. Back then Lake of Tears were doom-death as well, so were Pyogenesis (incredible band, before they went alternative). Most of this bands eventually turned gothic, but doom-death is a style, although pretty dead for some time. Since I like Slumber and Swallow the Sun, I'll check out Mourning Beloveth as well, I'm glad to see this style coming back, makes me remember a bit my youth. Besides, when it's done wright, it's really beautiful.

Heard a few tracks, it's quite good. Irish-accented vocalist is good!

Recorded last november. Seems a bit inappropriate for this time of year, but this is doom at it's finest:

Here are some lyrics of the last song:

"The trouble is I thought we'd live forever
The Truth is we were dead before we were born
If I wake again it will be in hell
If I see you again it will be in hell"
