I'm now just getting into Amaranthe so I'll have to check this out.

Glad to hear you've discovered them - this is well worth checking out for sure. Very unique sound.

I agree with the review. The description of the music is correct, but it pretty much means that this band is boring. I gave this band a fair chance on the first album, but found my self disappointed with the lack of depth. I'm actually ok with a little pop in my metal from a structure standpoint. I think they will do well in the teenage girl department, but I'm a man in my thirties and it's just not gonna do it for me. There is better stuff out there if this is your thing. Seriously, check out Djerv for an female fronted band with an incredibly fresh sound that is super catchy. The difference is that Djerv has depth not only vocally and lyrically, but the guitar work and songwriting is impressive also.

I like a lot of melo death, but Amaranthe, definitely not. Sorry.

I think they're amazing and pretty much agree with the whole review aside from the fact that Burn with Me is actually my favourite song on the album.

I saw them live at Prog Power and was unimpressed by them. My wife even commented that they sounded like a metal version of Disney's Fresh Beat Band, which actually is true. :D

I've been a fan of these guys since I saw the video for "Hunger". I thought their debut cd was amazing, some songs better than others, but I could listen to the whole thing and not skip a song. I don't think this one is as strong and some of the song structures are a bit repetitive but it's still enjoyable, for me at least. I had the pleasure of seeing Elize (female singer) perform with Kamelot when they opened for Nightwish and she was great live, not to mention drop dead gorgeous.

Oh, and Djerv absolutely blow, horrible singer and mediocre riffs.

I guess there is no accounting for taste. I like Djerv and I don't like Amaranthe. They remind me of Evanescence which is my 8 year old cousin's favorite band. She really likes this kind of stuff so maybe I'll get this album for her. She doesn't like Djerv either. She says she doesn't like the singers that scream a lot. hahahha
