I really enjoyed the last album, so this is definitely going to be my next purchase.

Unbreakable is a great song, but the rest is uninspired generic powermetal and after giving the album two spins and yawning through it, it is the only song I can even recall any melody from... sorry, but even Sonata Arcticas latest albums have been amazing compared to this.

As someone who didn't give a shit about Stratovarius since the Elements albums i gotta say that this is indeed a pretty decent release.

But 97/100 good it is not. More like 80-85. Good effort but there is nothing new there (well despite being heavier than other Strato albums). Just a solid all around record of the genre but not into masterpiece territory imho. Don't think it will be the best power metal CD of the year either but it's still enjoyable nonetheless

Uninspired ? May I suggest a simple procedure: cleaning your earring canals.... with dynamite :)

Everyone is entitled to his opinion but if this uninspired I wonder what is !
Just my 2 cents

If you're an old time Stratovarius fan, and agree that nothing has been very good since Infinite, then you will love this. Now will you love it as much as I do, I cannot guarantee.

But I'm not the only one who thinks this is their best since Visions...

It is heavier, and more epic than anything they did, to call them generic on this album is not knowing anything about Power Metal imho.

Great album easily their best in years starts off so very good and doesn't disappoint. Funny how there is no original members how many bands can you say that about? This current line-up have totally got it together.

This peaked my interest. I plan on buying this when it comes out here in the states. I happened to enjoy their last 2 post Tolkki stuff and so I'm looking forward to this.

And also you noticed after Fourth Dimension they have had only 1 worded album titles lol

I don't get it people have the nerve to compare this to masterpieces such as Infinity, Destiny and Visions. Those songs had some epic catchy tunes, but this has none. Usually I agree that albums that get great overal reviews are indeed great albums, but this seems to be an album people seems to love, but I think it's a borefest and since Infinity Stratovarius has fallen into mediocrity (just as Sonata Arctica after Winterheart Guild) and I give up hope for Stratovarius.

I gotta say, I am not as disappointed as I thought I'd be. There are actually a couple of good songs on this one like Abandon, Stand My Ground, Halcyon Days, Out of the Fog. It's a fairly solid album I think, the only low points for me are Unbreakable, cannot stand the chorus, and some of the rhyming on songs like Fantasy.

 People are never satisfied or happy with anything anymore don't you know? Sounds like this is gonna be a great listen. Visions is still my favorite of all time but I've only been associated with that album. I'll definitely be checking this album out more and more when I get some time.

Really ? Sonata didn't do anything good since Winterheart ? Days of the Grays is one their best albums, so let's just agree to disagree.

Opinions are like assholes, we all have one, simple as that. You can't impose your views to the world anymore than I can... it's all a matter of taste. There is NOTHING to understand. I love this album, you find it a borefest, and I'm sure there's an album you love that I will find pathetically laughable, that's how it works and on occasion we'll agree on something. It's all subjective and we all have our taste, otherwise we would just all listen to the same artist, there would be no music diversity, and we'd all be hooked on Justin Bieber :). So thank god there's diversity, and accept that your opinion (and mine for that matter), is just that : an opinion

Just my 2 cents

Give it a few more spins, you might find more to love about other songs :)

Surprisingly not bad. Not bad at all.
Even though I was never really a fan of Stratovarius ( last I heard of them was Elements pt.1 ) I find this one quite enjoyable. Probably an 80-ish album in my book.
Except for Fantasy, that is one really gay song I think :D .

Great Album! Yes, there are a couple super cheesy lyrical songs as always with this band. If you can't handle that stuff though, you probably wouldn't like anything Stratovarius does. Honestly, it took a few years for me to appreciate this band after I first learned of them back in 97. Fantasy is barely stomachable lyricwise. It reminds me of some eagle song they had that was tough to stomach too, but it's still a great song. If there's one thing we can learn from Chester Cheetah, it's not easy being cheesy; so give Stratovarius a break in that respect. Once you do, you will find this band extremely enjoyable. It's uplifting power metal so listen to it as such. There are 5 songs that are just incredible and the rest are very good songs so that makes for a great album. I'm sure with more time some of the ones that didn't jump out right away will begin to surface. Personally, I wouldn't say 97, but a solid 90.
