So it's just "metal," then? I haven't listened to it, so I can't say anything really, but it's just uncommon to see something described as just metal.

It's industrial metal and amazing at that. Jack compares this to Mutter. If you compare this album to Mutter, it will look quite pale and amateur. However, if you compare it to the album that came before it, Herzeleid, you'll truly see how far this band came in a few short years.

What I really like about this release is the killer production, driving rhythms and the fact that I can't understand a damn word the guy says! I picture Frankenstein singing when listening to it! Cool stuff!

Ah, this brings back a few memories. I purchased this CD before I really started getting into metal a few years later. One of the few CDs that I still listen to before my "conversion" so to speak. See you in hell Greenday...haha.

As this was my introduction to Rammstein, I have to say that this one is my favorite. They had such a unique sound, at that time. Mutter is still a killer cd, but my heart will always be with my introduction to Rammstein, which was this album.

On another note, is Industrial music dead? Was it just a fad that died just prior to metal's rebirth? I mean, a few years back I remember that I could go to HMV, a popular Canadian music chain, and there would actually be an Industrial section. Now when I go to HMV, all of the industrial bands have been lumped together with the metal bands in the metal section, obviously. Plus, I go to various metal-related websites, and you read very little about industrial bands at all. So I ask once again, Is Industrial music dead?

Pretty much. Most industrial merged with hardcore trance/dance for some reason. There are a handful of bands out there but for the most part, it's gone.
