Going by the review, a score of 60 looks way too generous.

Listened to it a few times this week.

I'd give the album a 65/100 and despite being a fan, I would rate the prior two albums around 55/100 or so. Basically, this album is them dropping the zany antics of past albums and writing something more straightforward. This is the first album without Krysta Cameron and so the question was whether the new chick would pull it off and I think she did. There is only one vocalist on this album. New chick never quite reaches the pretty lady highs that Cameron used to and her growls aren't as visceral, but she suits the new sound adequately well, i.e., Boat Paddle. The big thing for this album is simply how fucking amazing the breakdowns are. Firebees is sick. If you never liked them, they aren't going to change your opinion. But overall, album is solid albeit a teeny weeny bit bland. The sick breakdowns are just that, only breakdowns. Vocals need more contrast and the riffs need to be better.

If you like PtH, Fall of Troy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqjChIgzP5Y

Yikes, truth! Chalk that one up for some lazyass checking on my part. These are the kinda details I try to nail without fault but closing in on 10 years writing here, I guess they can't all be zingers

And when it comes to music of this style, I agree that Protest the Hero is worth checking out as they do it better. I recall hearing one Fall of Troy album many years back and my impression was of a more unhinged Coheed & Cambria. Insane musicianship (especially for a trio, were they not?) but less in terms of songwriting there too.
