Question for Zad: do you honestly think this album was superior to Blood Vaults, or are your review scores more of a sliding scale based on expectations and such?

Good question; it really depends, I was judging the albums based on different expectations and on different results. My standard answer to questions like this is that you should really only compare scores on my reviews if the genres are the same. So here, Extol made a better death/prog/christian/whatever album than Ruins of B made a black/doom album, but that doesn't automatically make it a better album? Here, though, in simple terms of my enjoyment, it is definitely better...

Thanks for the response, I think expectations have to come into the review equation on some level.

You also managed to get me to listen to some of that Extol album, and yes, I think we do disagree :lol:
