This album is receiving warm feelings from the posters on the archives. I've heard two tracks from it, and thought it was well-constructed but did not find it outstanding. Maybe the album takes some time to reveal its subtleties and secrets. Will buy nonetheless.

Well-constructed, but not outstanding sums it up rather nicely.

One of my favorites of the year so far. "Return to the sun" and "An eternity of Lies" simply slay!
compared to previous releases there is no filler on this album. A Great listen from start to end.

With all respect to PL fans, I haven't quite understood you for 20 years.

Even the bad MDB albums are still better.

I like Paradise Lost's basic sound, and find an average album by them pleasant enough, but yeah, I've never got them the way that I have MDB. Certainly agree with you that MDB are better overall, although I think PL have a way with a tune that makes them a better light listen at times.

Draconian Times and Icon are decent albums that I think can compete with most things that MDB has put out, barring Dreadful Hours. Other than that, totally agree with you.

However much I disagree with Freud on so many different cases, I like his words of wisdom about how we must always exercise honesty when dealing with ourselves. I think PL is a good band but I've never thought they were anything spectacular or breath taking. In a world of mediocoricity, excellence needs to be sought. PL, not so much. Following a formula never means stretching ones sense of imagination.

Right, and those were released 20 and 22 years ago. But yeah, Icon and Gothic, still fun albums I'll listen to every now and then. Always respected the lead guitarwork.
