Great review Zad, I've yet to listen yet but nothing you wrote will dissuade me, even those impressively awful song titles. Would love to see Karl do another solo record like you, and I'd be all for more vocal experimentation. Tobias Sammet? Sure. How about Aaron Stainthrope and Floor Jansen too? It speaks volume, as you noted, that their songwriting has been so varied, their sense of dynamics so sharp over the years that the only weakness (varying from perfectly mediocre to subpar) they've ever had is the vocals. Definitely the best weakness to have while being a death metal band.

Sure! I think Nick Holmes would be a good change of pace, too. Sammet is admittedly a bit of a wackier suggestion, but I think they could make it work! But otherwise yes, this is their best album since Detest.

Yeah Holmes could definitely worktoo. Seems like they are getting incrementally more adventurous with clean/non death vocals, at least on the more epic tracks here, so maybe the next step would be something like this. Karl is getting up there in age, so I wouldn't expect more than one or two albums remaining, so I hope he goes all out in a direction like this to wrap Nile up.
