I have listened to the album.Crazy solos fly everywhere here but truly the singer needs to shut up.If you think he is bad in the studio wait till you get to watch a live video of him! makes you want to scream "SHUT UP!!!"

Still I wish you could have gone into a little more depth about those two excellent guitarists , specially Becker who later as I have heard had some big health issues.Anyone has more info on that ?

Both their albums would be better with no vocals. Jason Becker was an incredible player imagine what he would have done if he didn't get sick and could still play he has influenced so many.

And this wins the award for shortest review at metalreviews.com in 3 years hehe. Anyway, I'm glad you reviewed this as I think a lot of people do not know that Cacaphon existed and what they were all about.

I'm eager to find more straight 80's Speed Metal that isn't adultarated by Helloween's "Power".
This review sounds very promising. Could you describe why the singer is so bad? Any comparisons?

Thx.

Hawaii - The Natives Are Restless
Easily, this is the best album of Marty Freidman's early career. IF you're a Freidman fan, I highly recommend searching this album out.

I totally agree, the singer is completly out of place in both cacophony albums. I once recorded both Cds on tape and set pause on the recorder when the singing came, so I could enjoy only the instumental parts of every song, which are still long.
But as far as the music goes it is really incredible what Becker and Friedman play in these albums.
It was futuristic at the time how their guitars sounded.

Well, the reason it was so short is because it was the first review i had ever written. It was the sample review, along with Judas Priest - Painkiller, that got me the "job" here. I wanted to get something else up besides that Annihilator one in the Classics section, and i had nothing else written Sunday night except for more Annihilator, so i just put that one on the site. I figured this review was better than no review. But hopefully that will be the shortest review i ever write. I have more comming up this week, 2 at least, that are a lot longer.

Brent

Look up the word "cacophony" in your dictionary and you understand why this singer is so bad.
