the new Haunted album is, by far, my favourite of theirs... kick ass metal with a hardcore edge, good shouting voice & great guitar hooks... what else you need ?

Agreed. If I wanted hardcore, I'd listen to hardcore. I don't like it polluting my metal. Besides, hardcore hasn't had an edge since 1994.

just look at what is happening right now in the USA... a new wave of metal just came out of the hardcore scene with bands such as Uneath, Killswithch Engage, Atreyu etc... all that started about ten years ago with bands like Mourning Again or Earth Crisis...

you have the right to dislike hardcore music but you cannot deny the facts... :twisted: hardcore & metal are the same family, they feed from one another all the time (see Fear Factory, Anthrax, Machine Head, Slipknot and many more...) :!:

All the bands you mention suck, specially Atreyu; you simply can't use the word Metal and Atreyu in the same sentence, it's a fuckin' insult, those possers should die, they're typical Hot Topic crap.

The only worthy bands are Fear Factory (becasue of their old stuff) and Anthrax.

And also I hate Metal and Hardcore comparisons, I see Hardcore closer to Punk than to Metal.

but i will have to agree on your comparison hardcore/punk for most of the hXc scene... great bands such as Refused, Sick Of It All, Snapcase have very little to do with metal not to say nothing...

one thing you forgot though, since Agnostic Front first introduced metal guitars on their "Cause for Alarm" album (that would be 1986 !) Metal & Hardcore scenes slowly became very intricate (for the worst when it comes to "nu metal".

now, in 2004, hardcore bands from germany (Caliban, Heaven Shall Burn) or the US (ATREYU !!! Unearth, Avenged Sevenfold) while keeping the spirit hardcore (more on lyrical content than anything else) play plain extreme Metal would you like it or not !

You saying Avenged Sevenfold plays extreme metal has to be the funniest thing I've read all day. And everyband you've mentioned has made me want to shit.

Yes, hardcore with metal might be relevant, but all the bands you just named seem to make shitty hardcore and call it metal. But I guess that is the essence of this whole thing.
