From what I've heard of them, this review sums them up very well. I still want this album. :dio:

EDIT: Chino sounds absolutely miserable in the best way possible. :dio:

Regardless of what anyone says, this band is still at least 80% nu-metal.

Accept it.

I'd agree with you on Adrenaline, Around the Fur 50% maybe but as for everything after that.....????? Have you heard the last 3 albums!?

Your definition of Nu Metal must differ massively from mine.

Sure. I love this band. I just don't find them to be so far removed from their debut now. I'll call them melodic nu-metal. Cool? =)

Their recent material is hardly nu IMO. Its rather ambient.

I can hear the odd trace of nu, but nothing offensive to my ears. 40% rather than 80%, say....

I'd say they're more like 53.5% numetal

Just for shits and giggles, my 'working out'

If Nu Metal = 100%
Lack of Hip hop inspired lyrics = -30%
Variance in riffs and guitar tunings = -30%
No Fred Durst collabarations = -20%
No Solos = +20%
Variety of song structures = -20%
Famous before 1998 and after 2001 =-10%
Cryptic lyrics = -10%
More than three albums = -10%
Toured with Korn = +20%

(100 = 130) + 40 = 10%.

I'll go with that

And for those who haven't heard it, Saturday Night Wrist is very different to anything else they've done. Big influence from Team Sleep from the sounds of things and thus even less nu metal than previous offerings. I will be reviewing it fairly soon once I get a good few listens in.

And I'd also just like to say that I have no real problem with nu metal, I find much of it vaguely humouros as opposed to annoying, much like glam. I do however dispute the second half of this band's output being classed as it. I don't disagree because I feel it tarnishes them, I disagree because I think it's wrong.

Ok, I guess I will play the asshole of this thread...

I hate this band. I saw them live once a few years back (opening for Metallica), and I couldn't bear a single song. I am just curious to ask what draws everyone to this band. I just hear a lot of moaning.

Liked early Deftones, fucking hated this album... I think it was the major disappointment I felt when I first heard it jaded it for me forever.

Oh and I saw them live last year and they suck!
