I've listened to it twice and it leaves me the same impression as when I listen to any other Brainstorm album. It's pretty good but it doesn't really make me wanna listen to it again. Everytime I hear a new Brainstorm album I hope it will just click with me and I'll be able to really enjoy these guys, but it looks like I will remain a casual fan after this album as well.

What I find with Brainstorm is, I simply can't listen to one entire album on its own all the way through. I get really bored and sick of it. What works for me is to just take the top best 2 - 4 songs from each album, and create one strong "greatest hits" compilation. (Even this I can't usually get all the way through, but I really enjoy the first 5 songs or so before I flip to something else.)

I will say, on this new album, the tune "End in Sorrow" is an amazing power song!

*Waits for Ken to arrive to make corrections, as this is surely a glorious album*

For me is the opposite I guess. I've always been able to listen to a Brainstorm release all the way through multiple times, or else I wouldn't have scored it so high. I suppose they have always "clicked" with me.

Why would Ken arrive?

Why wouldn't he?

Anyhow, I'm not going to bother with this album. I've tried their previous ones, and found them to be... mundane. And with this band being power metal, I doubt there's any progression to be found.

Why don't you try not provoking him first? Your original post was nothing more than an attempt to incite a shitflinging fest, and had no place in this thread. Knock it off.

Adam, if you hadn't noticed, Ken has jumped on me on several threads. My post was not meant to provoke him -- rather, I was just being truthful about his behavior.

Look, I'm not taking sides here, but what purpose does your original post in this thread serve besides trying to piss him off? If you really want to "tell the truth" about his behavior, this thread is hardly the place. If you really want to discuss this further, PM me and stay out of this thread, unless you have something relative to say.

Please excuse my rather irrelevant post but does anybody else see a resemblance here or is it just me....?

I agree, it looks a lot like Assassin's Creed...
Just my 2 cents

Others think so too. Here is Andy's comment on it:

Quote:
Is the Brainstorm album cover in reference to “Assassin’s Creed”?

Not really, not really.

Have you heard people mention that?

I like the game but there’s ton of killers and whatever running around and 11th, 12th to 13th, 14th century, you know. They all look like that. We searched for a fighter and we had this idea two years ago and right after the release of “Liquid Monster” we thought about having somebody undercover like a fighter. So we thought about someone who looks like from Persia or from India but it’s also a mixture with something new you know, with all the tattoos and stuff and the metal mask and so on. The thing was just to have somebody on the cover who fights for his right, you know, like we do. We sometimes have also fight for our right and sometimes we have a lot of luck but on the other hand we sometimes have to really go through tough times. What we wanted to have on the cover is somebody who fights for it and this is what we have to do all day long. That was, I think at least one and a half years before I’ve seen the first picture of “Assassin’s Creed”. We had the cover I think around the end of 2006, something like that. There’s so many covers, so many killers and pictures and so on with those guys running around.

But that’s ok. That’s fine with us. Maybe we can do the soundtrack for “Assassin’s Creed” part II or whatever.

Why not, eh?

You think it looks like that?

Well, at least one other person caught the similarity to the video game art...that’s all.

I don’t know. I’ve been told that there’s a comic series out like Batman, Superman. A kind of a superhero and he also wears something like this white coat. I was like ‘who? Ok.’. Then I searched for that in the internet but a friend of mine just told me, ‘well c’mon guy there are just hundreds of covers of video games and records and pictures and whatever. They all look like the same. It’s just funny. I personally think it’s one of the best covers of art in our career. To me it shows a lot of strength and power and that’s cool.

Good Review! I love Brainstorm cause they are just straight up Metal with a ton of balls just like Angel Dust and Rage. Unlike Avantasia which very predictably got a huge score on this site because it is cookie cutter fluff and this site eats this bubble gum candy pop metal up! Just look the scores of Edguy and the likes.

Anyway I think this just might be Brainstorm's best album front to back. The sound is huge. True Liquid Monster and Soul Temptation are pretty awesome as well but this is a least every bit as good!

I really like Brainstorm's previous 2 releases. I'm anxious to hear this one too. If nothing else this band is very consistent. For some listeners that can be considered a blessing or a curse for a band to remain this consistent. I'm thankful that they keep delivering what they obviously do very well.

Quit fucking picking fights, you idiot. Why don't you mods ban this turd?

As for this album, I downloaded it and listened once and then deleted it. I liked it, but have no opinion on it until I buy it.

This band has the same fate like many others, good start, pretty original sound, but then they ruin the impression by making several albums with nothing new, same bam-hit-chorus-solo-bam in every song. Shame.. I didn't mean to say that this album is completely worthless, it has some great moments of course. There is still hope for some (even for brainstorm). check out the new avantasia :D that's what i call a change.

And +1 with the Assassin's Creed comparison.
