i read the review for their self-titled effot on terrorizer, and it was good. the MR review only makes me more interested in them. i will look into them..

Don't believe everything you read on metalcrypt ... Tony and Sargon are two of the most "twisted" reviewers I ever "read".... Just when you think you have them figured out they throw something like "total crap.don't buy" at you and leave you speechless :):)...Anyway Kudos to them (my second favourite site, after this one).... and Battleroar indeed is quite excellent

Yeah i agree with you, many reviews are vague and do not give enough information to justify the score!

Well, I've been trying to write a review for this album for two weeks now and it wasn't coming together. I just can't write anything right now, not sure why. Probably because I'm goddamn busy, and today probably is hard because my face is on fire, but anyway, I'm glad I mentioned it to the team because I didn't think to check and see if it had been reviewed yet.

Anyway, now that I'm off the hook I will say that Mike's review is pretty accurate. It is indeed a good album that gets better with repeated listens. The vocals are definitely the main obstacle here. There's also a nice DVD that comes with it that shows some concert footage, a few tracks from a small club show and another few from a bigger venue. The small club is hilarious. One song features a guest vocalist, looks like a roadie or possibly just a fan, and he sings the song like Olaf from Clerks! Haha. In the other songs there's a dude in the front row holding up a giant fucking sword in front of the singer!! I was waiting for him to cut someone's head off! Crazy shit.

All in all, though. I'd give this album a 75/100. Definitely worth checking out, but it won't blow you away.
