Good review. I went MP3 hunting, but couldn't find any.

What's the point of making an archive review if you're gonna rate it so low ? Did I miss something ?

ah, archive just means that it's over a year old. I felt I should review something pretty average so all my reviews didn't look like 80, 80, 80, 80..

It's a pity, it sounded quite interesting. Anything like this, but good you can recommend?

probably Solitude Aeturnus, they know what they're doing. Eyesore can probably recommend a certain album, he's a bigger fan of them than I.

If anyone is going to pick a Solitude Aeturnus album to buy I would suggest any of them except Downfall. That album is excellent, but the band got screwed on this mix and it came out not sounding very good, the guitar is very weak, which is unfortunate because it's a great album.

As for Solstice, their CDs are hard to find unfortunately. I like Lamentations better than this CD, but not by much. The problem with these guys is the same problem that plagues a lot of doom metal bands: too boring. Don't get me wrong, this band is good and they're not a boring band, but by saying they're "too boring" means that they just get tedious too often. I like the uptempo doom metal, and if it's the slower kind it'd better have some quality songwriting (see While Heaven Wept).

Solstice are good, but I think their reputation is overblown.

Sometime this year, they're recording it now. As with most poorly paid bands they didn't get into the studio when they wanted to. The album was supposed to be out at the end of '05!

You heard the demos?

@Eyesore

Not yet, I will check them out now, thank you for reminding me of it... I have been too much busy with College, and not paying enough attention to Metal.

Solitude Aeturnus new album is on my greatest expectations for 2006 along with the upcoming releases of Tool and Blind Guardian.
I hope none of them disappoint me.
