This is a good album, and worth the wait. I was afraid there'd be no progression from the last, initially, but I'm glad to see that that wasn't the case.

Good review, Al. I basically agree.

Had a listen to those 3 mp3's on myspace. American Witch and Let It All Bleed Out were good, didnt like Foxy Foxy however.

Whats the rest of the album like?

To guage whether or not you will like this album is fairly easy, I think. Do you like the following songs?

Pussy Liquor
Two-Lane Blacktop
Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)
(Go To) California

If you like those songs, you should like this album. There are like 5 songs in that similar style.

I have to add that the songwriting is much better on this album than on those songs. I don't know how to describe, but it seems this album was a little more focused "musically" than The Sinister Urge. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's the best guitarwork he's had since White Zombie.

Hmmm, maybe i wont like it. My favorite 3 tracks off the Sinister Urge album are Feel So Numb, Demon Speeding and Iron Head. My fav White Zombie track is Thunderkiss '65

Try before you buy then. "American Witch" should please you.

I didn't enjoy this very much. I always liked, and still enjoy White Zombie's music and most of Rob Zombie's solo stuff I enjoy on a certain level as well. I found when listening to this CD, that only about 2 songs stood out as being better than average. Perhaps it's just due to my tastes in my music but most of the music on here plodded along with boring riffs and boring arrangements. I find Zombie's music in the past enjoyable because though the riffs weren't always entirely Metal, they were riffs, and they were good. The riffs did not do anything for me on this CD except on the American Witch and a few other songs. Though I wasn't expecting a whole lot I was disappointed by this release.

I will, this CD sucks ass. Sounds lazy and rushed and is nothing compared to even Sinister, which I thought was his worst CD ever. If you are expecting a Hellbilly or Astrocreep, don't bother.

I was expecting a return to Astrocreep or something like Hellbilly. I was wrong.

You obviously haven't been paying attention then.

I found Hellbilly and Sinister to be very similar records, in both sound and construct - don't think I'm alone here so it's quite bizarre you like one and not the other.

And voting it '0' is of course a completely reasonable score.

Fixed. 45 is more accurate.

And I noticed a difference between hellbilly and sinister. There are 10 songs on hell I like compared to only 2 off sinister.

Kudos for fixing it dude, 45 shows a more realistic opinion. If ya vote 0 for something people will probably just disregard it.

I do find that surprising, but each to their own. which 2 did you like as a matter of interest?

Feel So Numb & Demon Speeding.

I'll give this one another try today, with more patience. I'm used to being hooked immediately by anything Rob does but nothing grabbed me on this one.

I just got this album and it's pretty good. Sure it will never be as good as White Zombie, but hey. My only beef is that it seems to hold back a bit. Like all of Rob's solo albums the drums, guitar and bass lack the "oomph" that would make them almost as good as White Zombie. "Death of it all" is a great, groovy song. Even my wife likes it.
