As I am writing this, with a glass of whisky in one hand, at a candlelit wooden table in my wildflower garden that is arched by a sky of Chinese wisteria, a sorrowful climbing vine named “blue rain” in my native language, the last song on the record, Radio Protector, passes by.

I'm in tears. Another great review for a great band, I must hunt this down!

Thanks a lot Zadster! I'm glad you like this band, did you listen to the sample or have you heard the album already? I'll soon post a picture of where I was sitting btw :D

I've heard the sample before, going to listen to it again now. And I've actually seen the album on sale, but it was a bit pricey. I must get it though, I love it.

And that'd be nice. :P

I like this album, but I didn't really feel any melancholy of whatever. They've got a kind of hypnotizing drive. Mountain Men Anonymous is good too btw, this is just better.

Post rock is fastly becoming on of my favourite shitz, but I need to be in a certain mood to listen to them, like I haven't listened to this album since the end of 2005.

I think 65 Days of Static's songwriting + Aphex Twin's awesomeness would make a really cool album. As it stands I'm not a big fan of either =X

As it stands, I think 65DoS embodies some of Aphex Twin's awesomeness. Have you heard the whole album?

yeah, i thought it was good, but if they were as good as AT they could make a really great album. I guess my original post sounded like i didn't like it

I usually take exception to Misha's review style, and this one was no exception...BUT

I must give credit where credit is due. I grabbed this album a while ago based on a post he made about this band and have never regretted it. Thanks for letting me know about this band.

*goes off to listen again...so so good*

This is indeed an outstanding album. Even better than The Fall of Math.. Is doesn't have as massive an emotional impact on me as it seems to have on Misha, but I still agree on the overall conclusion.. Should have been on my top-2005 but I only just heard it the last week of the year..

I think that people who appreciate good BM is quite prone to like post-rock as well. Even though the approach and the means are very different the 'achievements' are somewhat similar.. You should look in to some 'folk noir' as well..

Hmm, that might be me as well, it's very often that I say "wow, this is sad" and everyone looks weird at me. That Love Generation song was on the radio 24/7 a while ago for example.

Hey, that's nice. I've inherited a gardening gene from my mother and grandmother, and although I seldom actually do any, I love flowers.

Must need a helluva lot of sweeping come autumn, though!
