Start it off with a bang! Album of the month, Strapping mixed with Carcass? I've seen the name mentioned before, but just never got around to checking them out. It seems like brutal death metal has been my music of choice lately, so I'll be looking into this bitch. Nice review Kayla.

Yeah this is indeed a good album, but i like the previous one better.
In fact this one is just very fast death/grind the previous one was HYPERFAST, something out of this world.
I'd give it a 75/100 and the previous one an 80

Ive heard some tracks off of this on the radio, and its not really my cup of tea. However, i must say that was a fantastic piece of writing. One of the most enjoyable reviews i can remember reading here. To me the reviews sometimes lose focus and say way too much, but that was perfectly clear and focused. Well done!

I've been hearing the name "The Berzerker" for a long time and never got around to hearing them, after this I will definitely check them out.

Good review btw. Keep it up!

I was 12. The only bands I listened to where the big 4 thrash bands, and some classic heavy metal. My friend lends me a tape of this band his brother's friend gave him, a band called The Berserker. My head nearly exploded and I hated it. Thus concludes the story of the day.

Out of curiosity, why'd you call this band the love child of someone else? I could understand a "cross-reference", on this album, depending on how much they've changed, but on their early stuff they were innovators. No one in death metal used electronic drums that actually sounded electronic (laser like) until Berzerker did. If anyone predated them on it, I'm going to cite Nile's Egyptian influences as an example, and say that Berzerker was the one that did it in a way that mattered for the scene. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I think it's important that everyone knows this little historical fact. :P My buddy Swytech would kill me if I hadn't said so. He's The Berzerker nut.

I was describing the sound, not trying to imply that The Berzerker was actually influenced by either Carcass or SYL. If you combined Necroticism and City, this is what you might get. The Berzerker is pretty much a one-man project, so it's essentially a singular vision.
