Good review for a great band. Code was better than you give it credit for (listen to The Great & The Good and All Hail The Grey Dawn again!), but this is another slice of brilliance from the boys.
Oh, I still think Code was a worthwhile effort (~75/100), but I hold ND to a higher standard, as I'm sure you do. That score from some bands would be considered a rousing success, but from them it was merely average. This whole album just sounded alot better to me.
Average? Sorry, but I think it's the best of all their 00s albums. The guest spots almost go by unnoticed, the songwriting's so good. I agree that they have a lot to live up to, but I haven't heard anything from them that I didn't like. Brilliant band.
I think you're missing my point. I like Code, it's a great album. I just
personally didn't like it as well as, say Order of the Leech. My opinion is that Smear Campaign is the best of the 2000's, followed by Order of the Leech, then Code, Leaders not Followers pt. 2, and Enemy of the Music Business. But guess what, they're all still good albums. That's what makes ND such a reliable and kickass band.
