i will certainly check this one out. Sounds good and the cover is pretty good as well but a bit cliché.

Definitely a good album. The cover is cool. It's a painting, or maybe a mixture of that and digital art. The guitarist did it, I think; someone in the band, anyway.

Yep. At least it's not a cheesy stock photo like most artists use. I'm pretty sure everything but the font is a painting.

I've had this for a while guys.... solid CD, but there's not enough speed overall. I'd call it a step down from Persuader.

Oooh, you've had it for a while! Well, so have I! And I'm cooler.

From what I've heard of Persuader (I own nothing by them, but working on it), I'd say you can't even compare the two.

You've got to be kidding me... the vocals are nearly identical. In addition, I believe one of the members of Assailant is the younger brother of one of the members of Persuader. Maybe the vocalists, but I can't recall exactly. So it's highly unlikely that there wouldn't be any similarities at all.
Assailant's material is very similar to the midtempo songs from Persuader, at least that's what I'm hearing. (yes, *cool* smiley once again.)

Very good stuff. Nice review as well. I'm going to look into this more, I can't tell much by the samples.

You could be right. I've heard little of Persuader's music, but what I have heard didn't remind me of this. And knowing Jens from Dark Empire and Savage Circus I don't hear the similarities. At certain points when Sundqvist really turns it on he may approach a sound similar to Carlsson's, but overall I don't hear. I totally hear Ville Laihiala of Sentenced/Poisonblack and David Draiman of Disturbed. I think Sundqvist sounds like either one of those two for 98% of the CD.

And you may be right about Marcus Sundbom, the other guitarist. I thought I read he was either the brother or cousin of the dude in Persuader, but I couldn't find where I'd read it before so I just didn't include it in case I was wrong. But I'm pretty sure you're right as I do remember reading it, unless we both read wrong information. Hehe.

It looks like just today they updated the band's site. Still no music, but there's a new look. :)

I definitely don't think Assailant is similar to Dark Empire or Savage Circus.
Surely grab Persuader Eyesore. Just so you know... despite what most metal fans think, I actually like their debut 'The hunter' the best.

I didn't say that! Haha. I was speaking strictly about the vocals.

I've been meaning to ever since hearing Savage Circus, but their CDs are nowhere to be found around here. They're at the top of the list, though.

Anyone interested, check these out:

LIES
DOWNWARD SPIRAL

Tell me this dude doesn't sound like Ville Laihiala and David Draiman!

Either way... :dio:

Man that Downward Spiral song is fucking kick ass. The dude's voice can get a litttle annoying, but overall he fits the music. Awesome chorus.
