Hey everyone,

I think Zad secretly likes the thrash revival. I'm not kidding, check out his scores (i didn't make this up):

Rumpelstiltskin Grinder - Living For Death, Destroying The Rest (83 / 100)
Warbringer - Waking Into Nightmares (80 / 100)
Savage Messiah - Insurrection Rising (80 / 100)
Gama Bomb - Citizen Brain (80 / 100)
Hexen - State Of Insurgency (79 / 100)
Lazarus A.D. - The Onslaught (78 / 100)
Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted (77 / 100)
The Haunted - Versus (76 / 100)
Hatchet - Awaiting Evil (70 / 100)

I'm not saying this is a bad thing, quite the contrary. It's awesome you gave all these bands a fair go. I'm just trying to make a point. All these reviews are from 2008 and 2009. You tend to start all your thrash reviews with a comment or two about how awful the thrash revival is.

Surely your own scores provide some evidence to the contrary?

Apart from the sheer bollocks that is some of your choices (The Haunted are Thrash revival, are they?) the fact that I pick out the better bands to review from the genre speaks for itself. It's not that I like the genre, it's that I've picked out the better bands to highlight to give you readers an indication of what's worth bothering with; trying to twist this into me loving the genre as a whole is silly.

I love this band. They mix up the thrash blend rather than sticking with writing the same song 10 times. Good review.

Come on, i'm not trying to say you love the genre. I'm just saying, if you can give all these bands scores above 70, and above 80 in some cases, maybe the trend isn't as bad as you often make out.

That's all.

And as for the Versus, it's post 2000 old school thrash. Counts as thrash revival as far as I'm concerned.

Perhaps if all the other bands weren't so shitty, I would. And The Haunted's debut was out in 1998.

God, you're so defensive.

I didn't mean to come off as accusatory. This was just meant as an observation.

It's fine. Just annoying; if I did like the Thrash revival, and started reviews by saying "zomg the thrash revival is well cool" there'd be equal numbers of moaners/observationists ( )... I can't win.
