An excellent review for a really good album. This is the first Talisman album I've ever listened to and I think it's very very good. As Mike wrote in the review, this is an album that you like to listen from start to the end in one go and there are no weak songs. Since I haven't heard anything else from them, I can't actually compare to anything but I believe this album to be one of the best melodic hard rock releases this year. 86/100

7 sees the band return to its roots of their debut album and Genesis stylistically.

Not sure what to make out of this. The first Talisman album is absolutely awesome, one of the best 80's rock albums ever to come out of Sweden, but Genesis I have to say I found extremely disappointing. Not a bad album exactly, but lacks that lovely sugary sweet 80's edge of the debut (partially due to having no keyboards), with far less catchiness and fun as a result. Maybe it's just a personal preference of mine, but in any case, I find those two albums stylistically rather different from each other, so again, I'm not sure what to say. Would love to hear some samples, too bad neither Frontiers nor Talisman's official site could provide me with any...

I'm listening to this very often lately and the more I do that I feel that this is an amazing album with wicked melodies! All fans of hard rock should give this a few listens. It's very catchy so it gets an easy 80/100 from the first listens but it's also a hell of a grower album that reaches the 95/100-scale after a while!

Maybe it's because of all those little details that are everywhere. Those things that never get noticed initially but when one is familiar with the song structures and melodies, those details come to the surface and make a good song even better. I think this "detailing/fine filling" is masterfully excecuted in this Talisman's 7.
