Likely the best thing they've done since 1997's Unleash the Beast, but still not as consistent I'd wish for it to be, which has been the case with their last three albums. There are no real loser songs to be found like on Lionheart, but after a solid one-two-three punch as the album's onset, things definitely turn considerably less exciting.

For being the band's seventeenth studio album it's pretty damn impressive though. Overall, a solid and highly respectable heavy metal output, certainly worthy of a solid 75/100.

This is a great album indeed, I have to give the disc another few spins but so far I really like this album.

By the way, yesterday I saw the guys live in Amsterdam. Saxon rocks :dio: :D

Very good album. Saxon are far beyond writing 5-star albums anymore, but you gotta love their ability to still make solid 4-star albums, consistently. This is solid 80 for sure, maybe 85 when I'm in the mood.

This album is awesome. I have listened to it 3 times now, and each time it gets better and better. I also like how every reviewed Saxon album here is 90 or better.

You can always count on Saxon. Another very consistent offering. Nigel Glockler is back on great form as well. Is that nearly a blastbeat at the end of Need for Speed? :omfg:

By the way:

Red Alert! Sound off the Jericho Siren! The Dogs of War are finally back! Saxon continue to show that they Can't Stop Rockin with their latest release, The Inner Sanctum. After all these Hungry Years, the Battle Cry that Saxon first shouted way back in 1979 can still be heard as they continue to Rock The Nations. On The Inner Sanctum, there is no holds barred. They come out with All Guns Blazing and Raise Some Hell. From the first track until the last, Saxon deliver a barrage of Heavy Metal Thunder that is sure to get you Rockin' Again!

When did MettleAngel get a job here?
