Well for me this is 88/100. I love this band. I've been into them since their first release and Trinity smokes it. But hey I'm a sucker for darker metal that still has alot of cruch and speed to it. This CD is on my personal top ten of 2005. If you like bands like Nevermore, Evergrey, Angel Dust, Morgana Lefay, Barlow era Iced Earth, even Sentenced you'll like A Lower Deep.

Me personally I like both Evergrey and Nevermore so I will be checking this one out myself.

A Lower Deep sound as different from Nevermore and Evergrey as Evergrey does from Nevermore, but they all carry a similar vibe to me. That heaviness blended with the melancholy, which I love that combination. Angel Dust's Enlighten the Darkness is the closest comparison to A Lower Deep's Trinity to me, but all these bands share that same vibe without sound just like each other.

I love all the bands you listed, except maybe Angel Dust since I have never listened to them.. Though if my memory is correct, the singer for AD had a side project called Mercury Tide, which I absolutely loved. Anyways, I will definitely check out this band 'A Lower Deep'.

Angel Dust's Bleed and Enlighten The Darkness are both masterpieces as far as I'm concerned. Heavy, dark and with progressive edges but still melodic and catchy. If you liked the Mercury Tide album, you'll love both Bleed and Enlighten The Darkness. I can't recommend those albums enough. Enlighten The Darkness is one of the better all round solid metal releases that has come out in the last 5 or 6 years.

Angel Dust is replacing Dirk, damnit, but they say they will return to the style of Enlighten the Darkness. Which is a great thing ,I love that album, but Of Human Bondage was weak, they seemed to influenced by their tour with Nevermore and couldn't pull off that style as well.

np: Sisyphus Resigned by A Lower Deep
