I know this post is a little late but I must have missed this review that week. I actually like this album quite a bit as it really grew on me and snuck in to my top 10 of 2004. This is most certainly not an immediate album but after several spins the melodies start to weave into your mind and don't let go. Eyefear are pretty heavy and pretty non-typical for the genre. Some very interesting chordal pallets are experimented with in the songs. Sometimes Eyefear remind me of Nevermore with their abstract delivery and emotive vocals by Danny. Albeit less intense and speedy. Anyway this is not for everybody but I would challange Ben to give it a few more spins and see if his quote wouldn't go up. My Score 88/100.

PS. By the way Ben, Pyramaze is also my #1 album of 2004

Hey whats up man,

There has been times where after a review went up I went back and listened to the cd alot more and it grew tremendously, check out what slot Platitude landed on my Top 2004 list, but I doubt Eyefear will have the same effect. Honestly, Im getting a bit tired of the slew of Progressive Power Metal bands out there, they seem to all be clones of each other and I havent really seen an album in that genre that has shown a significant growth from all the rest.
