A pretty good album, I'm glad he's making good music again. Obviously I, like the rest of the world, would like to see him in Lost Horizon again but this isn't bad at all. And I agree, they need to have a few more faster songs, those really kick my ass at times!

I'm gonna have the opportunity to see these guys live in about a month, it will be interesting to see. I've seen Lost Horizon live three times, and they hardly impressed me but Heiman did an awesome job every time and with a band playing more straightforward music this should be a real treat to witness.

I would give it a slightly better score, something about 84 i guess, great album, up there with the big ones.

RLY?

Lost Horizon at Sweden Rock '04 is one of the best gigs I've ever seen, and it was only a 40 minute set!

I saw Heiman with Crystal Eyes a year later and he was phenomenal again, among of the best live vocalists I've seen (and one of the best vocalists in the history of metal).

I saw them at SRF '04 as well and I must say out of the three gigs I've been to that show was the least good one. Admittedly I wasn't very near the front of the crowd that time so it might have taken some of the vibe away.

I'm not saying they're bad live, it's just that their albums are ACE but their sound just doesn't come through very well live, atleast in my opinion.

What's with Scots and Lost Horizon anyway, I've seen LH twice on metal festivals and both times there were Scots going crazy :)

This looks good...would you guys recommend this or Lost Horizon first? I looked LH up, and they got a perfect quote so I'm guessing they're pretty good...

Lost Horizon has made two of the best albums post year 2000 so that's where I'd start.

Dunno, maybe its the song "Highlander." :)

Or maybe its because so few people in Glasgow (and I guess the rest of the country) like true metal that its completely out of the question for bands like this to play here, so we have to go a bit mental when we travel see them. Or maybe continental crowds are just pussies. :P

I'm liking this album more and more each day... I like it much more than I did when the review was posted, much because of their phenomenal gig a few weeks ago.
It's just really, really good listening! 87/100

I really like this album. I have never listened to Lost Horizon so I can not compare, but the singer is definately one of the best in his field. He reaches low and high registers with astonishing facility.

Another thing I can state though is the Heed's album is definately not Power Metal so I suppose the comparaisons to Lost Horizon would be meaningless. I really like the midtempo songs on "The Call" but it would of been nice to see the guitar riffing change tones because at times all the songs seem to come from the same mold. I'll be keeping an eye for a new release because this band can only improve especially with the talent they have.
