Great Review! This is my Surprise of the Year too.....

I just heard of this band because I just happened to check out a video for the song 'Rolling Chances' that was posted at Blabbermouth and was totally blown away! The chorus in that song I shit you not may be the best chorus I have ever heard in a metal song period!

Anyway I feel the first 4 tracks are easily the best. Though almost every song is great with the exeption of tracks 5 and 6. Not bad songs but kinda weak for some reason.

This is my second favorite album this year only to the new Symphony X. I agree with the score 95/100 for me too!

Peace......

I have a bad feeling that this is rated a bit too high. But we'll see after I'm done with aforementioned song...

Not bad. I don't know where the melodeath influences are, but they weren't in "Rolling Chances" (or in some of the samples I listened to). Or maybe they were, and my ears just didn't pick anything up.

I can honestly say the rating is WAY too high. Should be somewhere in the high 80s, methinks.

Not meaning to start something, but methinks Chris is once again getting a little overly excited too quicky. This is extremely catchy stuff for sure, but just one listen to the songs posted on myspace and I could already figure out that I'd get tired of it rather quickly.

Right, yeah. That's all it has going for it; catchiness. Which is fine and all, but I wish to be blown away at the same time.

Hmmm... I don't know how you went from never hearing the band before to rating it an hour later.

I've never heard these guys before, but the few songs on their myspace sound pretty good.

It's quite simple. After reading the review, I immediately went over to Youtube, and watched the video for "Rolling Chances". Then, I checked out some samples from another website.

 You know these reviewers listen to an album weeks before they review it right? At least give it a few full spins before you form a final opinion man.

So what should I do? Buy an album that I don't care for? Or continue listening to samples?

I read carefully. I don't see where it says you listened to the whole album.

I heard a song called Chains of Sadness a while ago by this band and I quite liked it, for some reason never bothered checking anything else out by them. I've been hearing good things about this one, I just might make this album the one I check out.

Listen to samples, if it isn't your thing fine... but you're judging an entire album based on a couple of clips... uhhh... based on your theory watching the tailer of a movie is the same as sitting down and viewing the entire thing.

By the way, 80 something would be grounds for saying you don't care for an album?

I gave it an honest score. Doesn't mean I'm interested, or prepared to buy it. The album's good for what it is, and that's about it.

Seeing as it's fairly prosaic melodeath (judging from what I've heard), I feel that I don't need to waste money on the entire album. I fail to see how that's so hard to comprehend.

Because it makes little sense, homey. You gave it an honest score? How?
