Well done Charles. This is, indeed, a classic! :dio:

Very nice.
I always prefered Coroner over Mekong Delta; the latter takes too much work to get used to, whilst Coroner immediately grabs you.
Great musicianship and creativity at work here.

My favorite Coroner release will always be PFD, though.

Punishment for decadence should be the CLASSIC IMO but whatever this album is a masterpiece anyway.

I don't agree with you guys this time...I always found No More Color slighty better that Punishment for decadence... Perhaps I'm more emotional tied to this one.

Two european thrash classics in a row, and two of my fav all time albums... :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio:

Coroner was always referred to as Celtic Frost clones because they once were part of that road crew. I have to disagree with that. As much as I like CF, Coroner exceeded almost anything and everything CF did. This is probably their best album. Killer thrash songs.

They sound nothing like Celtic Frost; exceeded is not quite a fair term to use, as they (CF and Coroner) two different styles. But I'll concede that Coroner are probably more adept musically.

Still, Morbid Tales / To Mega Therion are some kick ass slabs of metal.

True, points noted. Maybe the vocals would be the closest thing they have in common. And I love the two CF albums you mention. Even Into The Pandamonium was good but an album that showed the band was willing to experiment a bit.

Even on To Mega Therion, CF was employing choirs and martial fanfare, French horns and such (Necromantical Screams, Dawn of Megiddo).
I always kind of preferred CF, mainly because I dig Sword and Sorcery in metal, and they captured that barbaric, martial ambience very nicely.

One of my favorite thrash metal releases. Definitely deserving of the CLASSIC label.

Gotta agree: classic album and good review. I personally feel everything Coroner released was excellent in one way or another and Tommy T. Baron was one of the best thrash metal guitarists ever. I would wager that every single person who ever played guitar in Celtic Frost would agree Tommy is amazing.

It's a shame they never quite caught on and disbanded. I think they could have put out a couple more excellent releases had they had some more support.
