Son of Odin?
A quality archive for sure but not a classic.

If you want classic NWOBHM, you can do some Saxon, this site is seriously lacking in that department.

Just got Elixir's three first dirt cheap, so I'll do those first... I think Marty or someone else are more than fit for the Saxon-job... I only have their newer stuff at the moment.

Saxon is tremendously boring, and Elixir is only mediocre as well. If you're going to review another NWOBHM album then you should do Cloven Hoof's self titled debut. That album is 100% awesome all the way through.

Not NWOBHM but contemporaneous with it are any of the first three Heavy Load albums. They are all classics, but my nod would go to Death or Glory. So yeah, review Death or Glory by Heavy Load, or Cloven Hoof. You can't lose either way.

Elixir is far from mediocre... Their early stuff at least. Diggin' it. Cloven Hoof is indeed great though

Holy_Terror...shame on you. Shame.

Saxon are fucking awesome! I saw them at Donington last year and I was front row middle with my mate, it was amazing. Then straight after it was Testament. Also amazing. My neck hurt for about a week afterwards-surely a good sign.

You know that HT only likes the obscure bands... That's how he pretends to be better than others. :lame:

Yeah, that's bullshit. When it comes to Heavy Metal geenrally the biggest bands are the best ones, a testament (woops) to the good taste of the fans!

There are some unlucky bands which were great but went tragically unnoticed but that doesn't happen a lot.

I will pile on and state, that, indeed, Saxon kicks ass.

Saxon rules. Cloven Hoof rules. Quartz rules. Elixir rules, but slightly less... There're famous band that rules and obscure bands that rules. There're famous band that sucks and obscure bands that sucks.

About Elixir, I don't consider it a classic, more a high archive... Wheels Of Steel, Strong Arm Of The Law & Denim And Leather are classics, Quartz & Stand Up And Fight are classics, Cloven Hoof (the album) is a classic.

But the best NWOBHM (well, excepting Iron Maiden) was another... Yes
ANGEL WITCH - ANGEL WITCH is a CLASSIC!

(Yeah, I know I'm repetitive)

Your forced to be repetitive because your valid cries are ignored.

Love me some Quartz!

I really want to put in a classic from that ilk soon. Quartz, Cloven Hoof, and Angel Witch are all worthy candidates and eventually I would like to put them all up here. I will probably get to Angel Witch first, seeing how ganesha has been so, ahem, patient.

Oh and Walnut, since you brought it up, any preference on Quartz between the self-titled and Stand Up and Fight?

Very mature. Let me just quickly refute this childish remark. My two favorite bands are Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin.....hardly obscure. Thank you for your time. Perhaps next post you'll be less.....stupid. :lame:

If the comment was intended as a joke it would not change my response.

And as far as this comment, I don't even think I need to point out how ignorant this sounds.

I've been planning some EoS archives for a while now, starting with Spectral Sorrows.... People didn't seem interested enough for me to suggest it as a classic though.
