I've heard of the band, but not this album. I have In Death of Steve Sylvester and that gets a resounding meh from me.

I listened to The Story of Death SS 1987-1994, if only because I'm a big Paul Chain fan. It was pretty good actually. I'll have to check this out.

This is a good album but just because its obscure it doesnt make it a classic.

Anyway the first three Death SS albums are actually pretty good but Paul Chain's solo work is way better.

It's not a classic because it's obscure, it's a classic because it was a landmark release in the area and became part of the metal culture mentality. It seeped into general consciousness.
