This is my favorite Gamma Ray album, before Land of the Free, which is good too,but Powerplant has a bigger sound. But to me it doesn't deserve 100! It's a very fine album, but not a masterpiece(it can be ,if you're less than 20).Anyway ,i've always had a problem with Gamma Ray's shitty sound. It sounds just like video games music(maybe to appeal to japanese fans)!Helloween always sounded much better! It's a pity since Gamma Ray have otherwise fine songwriting skills.I'd give this album 90/100,since it has no fillers, which is not the case with the other GR albums. And Heavy Metal Universe is one of the best Manowar imitation ever!!

I agree but I would not call it a classic, because it's too early too tell (1999 is only 6 years ago) and also because, in my opinion, Gamma Ray never did release any classic album

pretty nice stuff though 80/100

Wow. Maybe we are different. I forget what I quoted this at, but I'll say 95/100.

Video game music is so metal. Just listen to Castlevania's soundtrack.

Listening to the album now. I haven't heard too much from Gamma Ray, but this is the best I've heard so far. Kai Hansen's voice is rather impressive I must say, and some of that guitarplaying is just a joy to listen to. :)

This is a great album but again, I think its way too young to be included in the classics.

Yeah, amazing album, but I wouldn't call it a classic. Maybe a destined-to-be classic, but not yet. And 100/100? I don't know, I'd give it 87/100. Just short of the coveted masterpiece spot, but it's definitely not perfect.

Now, I'm not trying to slag on any reviewer, but that review was a paragraph long!! An album declared a classic, a perfect 100/100 classic is more deserving of one paragraph. Am I wrong?

No you’re right.

It's an early review. Most of the reviews done here two or three years ago (however long this site has been up) are short and pretty sloppily done. I think you reviewers should be aloud to redo such reviews, especially albums of this caliber.

We can, as far as I know. I know I've gone back and fixed a few things in reviews after they've been posted.

You should look into that, b/c there are some really crappy reviews floating around the archives section.

Well, I'm not going to update someone else's review, so that would be up to them.

Even the reviewers who don't review here anymore?

Well, no, I don't think anyone would mind a newer review being done, especially if there is one done badly. Case in point:

MAYHEM - GRAND DECLARATION OF WAR

That turdfest should be deleted. No offense to whoever wrote it. Nice name, though. I'm pretty sure I've seen a worse one out there, too.
