Good album, not a classic though. In your Multitude is better.

 That was my reaction too. But, since it has found itself in the classic section, it must be something special. Will give these guys a listen.

Sorry, but I think this is kind of silly. Giving one Conception album "Classic" status is questionable; two borders on absurd. Even if these albums are so important to the reviewer that he/she thinks that they are "classics," there should be some kind of quality control to prevent this sort of thing. There are many, many albums that deserve the "Classic" tag over these Conception albums, and I feel that anyone who disagrees will be in a tiny minority.

A classic case of a mindblowingly ugly cover art. Musically, though, the zenith of meh.

Is there even an any purpose to the classic section if Reviewers just put down what ever floats their boat?

I've never heard of either the band or this album, but if it has a classic rating in power metal- I'm sure its an album that's been influential and or has a following somewhere. I'll check it out right now, I have nothing better to do anyway.

It has a classic rating cause someone gave it a classic rating.

I like power metal but never heard of these guys.

Bands that should have "classic" rated albums in the Power Metal genre are:

Helloween
Gamma Ray
Blind Guardian
Iced Earth
Hammerfall
Edguy
Gravedigger
Savatage
Primal Fear
Rhapsody
Dragonforce
Kamelot

I don't even like all of these, but they're all major contributors to the genre.

Conception are not.

I can agree on those those are all massive names, but just because they are upper tier doesn't necessarily make them classic. What exactly have Rhapsody, Primal Fear, and Dragonforce done in the vein of those bands?

Just add a tag "Lost gem" or something so that reviews such as this one won't pollute the classics section anymore.
I understand that some people loooove obscure albums, I do too, but you won't see me calling it a classic. Sure, there are exception to the rule that a classic album should have been released by a famous band, but Conception ain't one of those.

Something else. This reviewer (Erik) seems not to be responding to the opinions people opposed to him considering Conception's "Green" album a classic. That's a shame, I'd like to hear from him. Is he even a forumite?

+1. Isn't Primal Fear just a Painkiller clone?

Who knows as I can't stand them personally. I mentioned them as a big name.

Dragonforce did instigate a revival in Power Metal interest as well as adding all the idiotic Nintendo sound effects.

But what did Conception do? They aren't influential and they aren't a big name.

+2 for hidden gem tag.

2 very good albums, and one masterpiece called In your Multitude

Well, sometimes life is unfair... they had it all. Superb musicians, great songwriting, a worldclass vocalist.
Like I've already said, I don't consider any album in the Conception catalogue a classic, but they're really good. Any fan of Power Prog should listen to them.
