Good album, and a severely underrated band.
Tight as fuck musicianship, catchy necksnapping riffs, 80s style, it's all here.
The funky slap-bass parts sometimes get annoying and seem to be out of place, but it is sparsely done and as the rest of the music makes up for it, it can be overlooked.
Good work!

About damn time!

My favourite thrash metal album of all time. I was listening to this today even before I knew it was reviewd. I love everything about this album. It's got it all. And man the riffs are everywhere, so many good ones. Even an non-thrasher would at least appreciate this album.

Awesome review Thomas.

I also laughed when I read this:

and no, bassist Klaus Ullrich is not in any known way related to Lar$ of Metallica

Now I know your are thinking of ME (not men, im stoopid) even when you write your reviews!

Great album. Another one in the fine line that are between really great & absolute classics, but well, for me that's a classic.

Great review. :dio: :dio: :dio: :dio:

Pretty awesome album, though sometimes the lyrics are stupid. Lots of Rush-like tendancies. Like it lots.

This is easily a cult classic. No doubt. It's also ahead of its time and has aged fantastically. So yeah, I obviously disagree. The notion that only acknowledged bands make classic albums is bullshit. Metal is very much about the underground. People seem to forget about that.

+1

If this isn't a classic then nothing any of the big 4 did is classic either.

Then what is your definition of a classic album?

I can agree that this album is very good, that it has aged very well, and that metal is very much about the underground.

But i don't agree that this album is ahead of it's time. In which way is it ahead of it's time?

And i don't really care about the big 4, but at least Peace Sells is much more deserving of classic status than this one(and is way more ahead of its time).

My preferred thrash steel record of all-time. I was enjoying this these days even before I realized it was reviewd. I really like everything about this record. It's got it all. And man the licks are everywhere, so many excellent ones. Even an non-thrasher would at least appreciate this record.
